WAR-SCP-05 = Sevigny Competition rear (.150 wide notch) with serrated fiber optic front (.115 WIDE x .245 HIGH)
For Long Slides
Sevigny Competition Sights
Sevigny Competition Sights
The patented, Sevigny competition sights incorporate a more traditional approach with sight design.
Overall the rear blade and notch are dimensionally the same as the warren tactical sights, but that's where the similarities stop.
Dave Sevigny wanted to have a wide open notch with square corners.
The Sevigny competition sights take advantage of the long outter corners that are rounded to Dave's specs.
Dave also wanted crisp sharp edges that enhances the shooter's ability to differentiate between the sight and the target.
When competing with the Sevigny competition sights the shooter has no doubt between the sight and the target.
With the wide notch, the competitor knows instantly that the front sight is on target and it's time to press the trigger.
Clean Rear Blade
Our rear sights are void of distracting serrations, under cuts, painted lines and odd angles that distract the shooter's eye from the front sight.
All Warren and Sevigny rear sights are based on the principle that cluttered, busy rear blades are distracting.
The rear surface on the Warren and Sevigny sights are angled slightly back towards the shooter to eliminate glare.
Also, the front of the rear sights have a large radiused cut that allows for one handed slide cycle drills.
The wide notch at .150, allows for an ample amount of light on both sides of the front sight.
This helps the shooter to see the front sight on the exact spot (focal point) where they want the shot to be placed.
With plenty of light around our carry and tritium front sights (at.125 wide) the shooter can easily read when the front sight is on the target, hard cover or a non-threat.
Sights that have too narrow of a notch with a wide front sight makes in almost impossible to discriminate between the front sight and where it is on the target.
The wide notch also enhances the shooter's ability to call the shot.
(calling the shot: after the shot is taken, with the ability to easily see the front sight, the shooter can watch the front sight lift off the target during the recoil phase of the shot and then follow it back down and quickly align it within the rear notch during the recovery phase of the shot.)
All these features combine to give the defensive shooter, the competitive shooter and the law enforcement professional an advantage for fast sight acquisition, target discrimination, shot placement and fast follow up shots.
If you are veteran shooter and your eye sight is not like it use to be, then our wide notch and .25 wide and .115 wide fronts would be the set up for you.
You can easily see the front sight.
Scott and Dave readily agreed with the dimensions for the front sights.
All plain carry and tritium front sights are .125 wide.
The plain carry sights are serrated with 90 lpi.
The tritium front sights have a green lamp enhanced by a white ring.
All plain competition and fiber optic front sights are .115 wide.
The plain competition sights are serrated with 90 lpi.
The fiber optic fronts are also serrated and use a .040 diameter rod.
Red and green rods are supplied.
For most glocks our standard front sight height at .215 works great.
For the long slide glocks, i.e. 20s, 21s, 34s, 35s the .245 tall fronts work great.
Scott Warren and Dave Sevigny
These sights were designed by two of the top pros in their fields.
Scott Warren (24 year veteran of the fbi, serving 19 years on the elite hostage rescue team and top idpa & uspa competitor) and Dave Sevigny (uspsa's top production, idpa's top stock service pistol champion and steel challenge national champion).
What separates our sights from the rest of the pack is that they were designed by two end uses who just wanted something better for themselves.
With Scott's tactical/real world background, he wanted something that would help with his shooting, threat engagement and fast follow up shots.
Sights that would not delay or hinder his ability to position the front sight on a threat, read the sights, then surgically engage that threat and then continue with fast follow up shots.
Scott and Dave became friends, training and competing together long before they designed sights together.
As Scott was developing his sight design, Dave commented that he was not happy with the sights that he was using at that time.
Dave, a former machinist, told Scott that he had to re-cut and reshape the rear sight to make it work for him.
Dave told Scott what he wanted to see in notch dimensions.
Dave added that he wanted a more traditional rear blade, with rounded shoulders and with crisp, sharp edges all the way around the rear blade.
So the he would have an instant distinction between the sight and the target.
After some prototypes were made and refined by Dave, the Sevigny competition sight was born.
